Saving the World vs Playing the Lottery?
May 20, 2025Why do we need a “Spiritual Black Belt” symbol? That’s easy, to raise each other’s energy.
If I decide I’m going to save the world, there’s only one of me. Doesn’t feel all that likely.
Now let’s say the counter on our Practice Partner app goes up by one? Or I see someone wearing the Spiritual Black Belt logo at the gym? Now it’s not just me, and with even just one other person by my side, I feel stronger, my energy goes up.
Even if there are only two of us, the experience of company in a wild and hopeless idea makes us remember Butch and Sundance bursting out of the barn, guns blazing. And while the movie ended there, wasn’t the point to leave us with hope, even against impossible odds? It felt good to imagine that person by your side, regardless of the odds.
“My world” is the energy I bring to it, and with just one person by my side, I somehow have the energy I need to “save my world.”
Now let’s imagine there are three of us. Three out of 8 billion. On one hand, that might seem hopeless, but was the Three Musketeers a story about hopelessness? I think not.
“Saving the World” is not an uprising that depends on some external conditions to claim success. “Saving the World” is an “in-rising” that uses the most simple of connections between us to create the Three Musketeers effect on a global scale.
Although you don’t need the scale to be global to feel the energy from it. Even if you are only the second person to sign up, you have me. Together with our imaginary “guns blazing” as part of our own inner practice, there will be a third soon enough.
Once we have three, now we have a snowball, and from there it’s only a matter of time before that snowball becomes an avalanche of 8 billion.
